Ways to Leave Your Pawprint

There are several simple and impactful ways to make a planned gift to RAL:

Include a bequest in your will or living trust
Name RAL as a beneficiary of your retirement plan (IRA, 401(k), 403(b), etc.)

Our pets are family - and many of us can’t imagine life without them. But what happens if they outlive us?

According to the ASPCA, 2–3% of all shelter animals enter due to the unexpected death or disability of their owner. That’s why RAL offers peace of mind for members of the Pawprint Society.

If you’ve included Richmond Animal League in your estate plans, you may also choose to enroll your beloved pets in our Pet Legacy Program. In the event of your passing, RAL will provide safe, loving care for your surviving pets while we work to match them with a permanent, compassionate home.

How It Works:

Let us know about your wishes when you join the Pawprint Society
Include language in your will or trust designating RAL as your pet’s guardian
Our team will coordinate with your estate representative to ensure your pets are brought to safety
We’ll provide them with veterinary care, emotional support, and a thoughtful adoption plan

This optional benefit is available exclusively to Pawprint Society members. It’s just one more way your legacy can protect animals—starting with your own.
